New
product from MSS: Ceramic tiles
One possible use is to utilize these tiles in e.g. underground station areas. The green color will provide information to travelers during normal light conditions (e.g. a 2 meter long arrow pointing to the nearest exit), and will provide emergency wayfinding possibilities in black outs. Here are some application areas:
Preliminary Press Release: The emergency evacuation of large numbers of people from underground train stations, pedestrian subways and blocked road or railway tunnels would be a potentially catastrophic situation if the main and auxiliary electrical power supplies fail for any reason. Similar public safety wayfinding problems would also occur if such subterranean locations became filled with smoke caused by fire, resulting in severely restricted overhead-light luminosity and very limited eye-level or even floor-level visibility. These public safety considerations were the driving force behind the development and production of a new range of Photoluminescent (P/L) Ceramic Tiles now available from Metal Safe Sign International of Norway (MSS). MSS is a leading innovator in the design and supply of high-performance P/L products based on the use of its advanced Strontium Aluminate pigments, designed to provide significantly improved 'passive' (non-electrical) safety warning and emergency wayfinding systems. The new P/L Ceramic Tiles can be produced to any shape or size up to a specified maximum, and information/instruction displays can incorporate any pictograms or pictographs required for individual applications, such as 'running man' way out/safety exit, exit direction and distance, primary and secondary escape routes, nearest emergency telephone location, staircase hazard warning and similar. In addition to internationally-recognised and approved graphical symbols (eg. ISO, DIN, ANSI, IMO etc), customers can choose to have their own 'customized'-design signs to meet their particular requirements. P/L afterglow colors are limited to two alternatives at present, being green and blue, with surrounding tile areas being white as standard, or of a color to match the customers' specification. At the present, only novelty products can use different colors. Other standard P/L colors will be introduced in due course, according to market demand. Send request for more information
